Where were you born and where did you grow up?
1969, the year of landing on the moon and Woodstock. I grew up in south Louisiana.

How long have you been practicing Bikram Yoga and what prompted you to take your first Bikram Yoga class?
I’ve been practicing 10 1/2 years. I literally wandered into a studio, never having heard of Bikram yoga. The studio owner invited me to stay for a class and the rest is history.

Why did you become an instructor and what aspects of Bikram Yoga have had the greatest effect on you?
I wanted to share something of what I’ve gained through my own practice with others. Bikram Yoga has improved every aspect of my life. I rarely get sick, I feel good all the time, and I have a LOT more energy. I was in a life-threatening motorcycle accident in July 2015, and I credit my daily Bikram practice for my speedy recovery.

What do you like to do when you are not in the yoga room?
I love to travel, see live music and meet new people. I also enjoy spending time with my sister and nephews and niece.

What is your favorite pose in the Bikram series and why?

Standing bow. I love how it showcases flexibility and strength.

What advice would you give to any new student?
Consistency is key. Just keep coming. You cannot imagine how much you will benefit from a regular Bikram practice, but trust that you will!
